Batam City is a city in Riau Islands, Indonesia. It is a roughly oval island with many bays, islets, and peninsulas, located west of Bintan Island, south of Singapore. 20 kilometres (12 miles) across the Strait from Singapore.

1. Barelang Bridge


The first must-see place is Barelang Bridge.The Barelang Bridge built in 1997, is a chain of 6 bridges of various types that connect the islands of Batam, Rempang, and Galang, Riau Islands. This bridge is one of the most beautiful views in Batam. There’s no way this Batam travel guide is complete without it. 

2. Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Temple 




The biggest Buddhist temple in South-East Asia, this temple is a peaceful homage to the Buddha Maitreya. The temple itself has five sections, with prayer halls and rooms filled with art and sculpture.

Tourists wanting to experience another religion can go to this picturesque temple.There is also a vegetarian restaurant within the premises, in addition to a souvenir shop and a clinic. Tourists may take photos within the vihara, which is usually crowded on weekends and holidays.

3. Golden Prawn
