COME MAKAN WITH US: Satisfy cravings for Japanese breaded pork cutlets only at Ginza Bairin Orchard Ion

COME MAKAN WITH US AT GINZA BAIRIN IN ORCHARD ION

Opened in July 2009, Ginza Bairin at Ion Orchard has been satisfying cravings for crispy, tender and juicy Japanese breaded pork cutlets here on this Sunny Island. All Tonkatsu and special Tonkatsu Sauce served at the casual-dining restaurant in the heart of Orchard Ion remain true to the original recipes which have since been passed down for three generations. Our weekender team had the privilege of tasting one of the best Japanese pork cutlets in town!

BLACK PIG LOIN KATSU SET
Taste:
Crispy pork cutlet accompanied with the signature "Tonkatsu Sauce", the natural sweetness and robust flavour goes well with both cutlet and rice. With an additional choice of Honey Mustard, Japanese Sesame sauce and Lemon juice on the side.
Rating:
Price: $20

The Black Pig Loin Katsu Set is a great companion during lunch hours. The set comes with a little side dish and rice. The cutlet is both crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, a true quality of the famous Black Pork. This set will not only entice your taste buds but also keep you fuelled for the rest of the day!

SPECIAL BLACK PIG KATSUDON
Taste: Not your average Katsudon, as Black Pork combined with Ginza Bairin's special recipe to produce this delicious and classic dish.
Price: $19

This is a shoutout to all my fellow runny egg lovers! Crispy Pork Katsu coated with fresh yolk on a bed of steamed white rice is what I need for a quick and delicious meal. The runny yolk gave the crispy layer of pork a tinge of smoothness that goes perfectly with rice and miso soup.

DEMIGLACE SAUCE BLACK PIG NIKOMI HAMBURG
Taste:
Sauce has both a hint of sweet and sour and the meat is soft and easy to chew
Rate:
Price: $18

Soft minced meat shaped into a solid patty that melts in your mouth, accompanied with a sweet sauce with a hint of sour is the best marriage with a bowl of steam rice. Personally, I find the sauce strong and appetising, definitely a taste tantalizer.

PORK KATSU SANDWICH
Taste:
Bread is coated with butter and toasted to perfection. The Tonkatsu is crispy and soft enough to eat. Soft and crispy, best of both worlds.
Price: $7.90

In a rush for lunch but still, crave for some Pork Katsu? The Sandwich is the best way to go! Ginza Bairin understands that Singapore is a busy city and located in the busiest area of Singapore, they had compressed everything great of their recipe into this nifty sandwich box.

AVOCADO KAMI KATSU SALAD
Taste:
Fresh Avocado with mayonnaise, corn, cabbage, cucumber and bread crumb.
Price: $12.90

Want something lighter for lunch? Choose the Avocado Kami Katsu Salad from the regular Katsu Don. With a wide selection of vegetables included in the dish accompanied with a huge serving of avocado, your belly will be filled just right!

SOBORO PORK DON NEW
Taste:
Minced pork that tasted like Bak Kwa, sweet and savoury goes very well with rice.
Price: $14

Our Weekend team has described this dish being akin to Taiwan's Lu Rou Fan but with a dash of Ginza Bairin's special sauce. The mix of runny yolk adds a hint of smoothness and savoury taste to the sweet Bak Kwa like mince meat, a balance of both worlds.

SALMON KATSU DON NEW

Taste:
The runny egg on top, egg white spreads all over the salmon cutlets. Crispy on the outside and on the inside salmon is cooked just right so that it is soft and tender.
Price: $17

Out of the normal Pork Katsu Don and Salmon Don, Ginza Bairin fuses both dishes and invented the new Salmon Katsu Don. Using the same delicious recipe but instead of Pork, Salmon is used instead. Crispy crust on the outside and tender soft salmon on the inside, cooked to perfection.

MEAT LOVER PLATTER NEW
Taste:
Beef cooked medium well, pork cutlet, hamburger steak, meatball with cheese, fried chicken.
Price: $38

If looking through the menu and can't decide what to eat? Ginza Bairin has come up with the best solution, by combining each of their best and plated them on a platter for you. With a wide selection of Beef, Pork, Chicken and Meatball with cheese drizzled with their special tonkatsu sauce, this would definitely be your go-to dish whenever you visit. If you think this is too much meat for you, there are a selection of ala carte dishes to accompany this beast!
